T1 trucks placed outside of the HQ

On April 4, the South Korean team and current World Champions were defeated in a one-sided series against Hanwha Life Esports, sending them to the losers’ bracket and greatly lowering their chances of qualifying for MSI. The poor results and the decreasing performance seen by the squad have brought the return of the T1 truck, a common vehicle used by companies to advertise products or services. In this case, however, trucks are used to convey a public message to the organization, using the LED display to express their opinion. According to the translation by fans on X, the message specifically demands the firing of head coach Kkoma and that the results have been due to the incompetence of the coaching staff.

This is not the first time trucks have been used against T1. Back in 2020, fans sent a truck to protest about the team management shortly after T1 had announced their new coaching staff. The same tactic was used both in 2022 and 2023, always expressing negative feelings towards the organization.

T1 and the increasing struggles in the LCK Spring Split

Throughout the split, the LCK encountered major DDoS attacks on broadcast, which led to several games being suspended or postponed. While the league has been able to return to normality, the T1 squad ended up being targeted outside of official games, with players being forced to stop streaming games live and play on secret accounts. This has indirectly impacted the performance of the players and their preparation coming into playoffs.

During the press conference following the end of the series against HLE, T1 Faker voiced his frustration: “I believe it is true for me to state that we were not given a fair opportunity to practice compared to other teams,” as translated by content creator Ashley Kang.

T1 will face DK in the losers’ bracket on Sunday, April 7, to see who will continue their run in the LCK Playoffs.
