Singed – the evergreen counter
Kled is by design a champion who wants to chase after enemies whenever he’s on Skaarl. So it’s only logical to have a champion like Singed be a Kled counter. He can slow down the enemy’s chase while also dealing substantial damage with the poison. While you might not be able to snow ball the lane out of control, you’re pretty much guaranteed to get the upper hand in this lane.
Camille – the lane counter
As a duelist, Camille loves fighting tanky champions like Kled given the true damage on her Q. On top of that, she has favorable trading patterns against Kled since she can fight back with her E and decide to disengage and re-engage to her liking. Once Kled jumps off Skaarl it will be easy to finish him off.
Irelia – skill-based matchup
Irelia is heavily favored in this matchup but it heavily depends on Irelia’s ability to mechanically outmaneuver Kled during the laning phase. If she plays the trades to perfection (or somewhere close to perfection), Kled will have a hard time. As Kled, wait for her to mess up before forcing an engage.

Worst Kled counters
Dr. Mundo – the worst matchup
Dr. Mundo is quite a tanky champion and he shouldn’t have problems dealing with Kled. But ever since Riot introduced anti-heal on Kled’s kit, the matchup has gone completely upside down. The latter will always be able to stay on top of Dr. Mundo, greatly reducing his sustain. Paired with Ignite, Kled has great kill potential before Mundo picks up some items.
Sion – a bad choice
Similar to Dr. Mundo, Sion is also another one who struggles particularly against Kled. You won’t be able to kill Kled alone so the only thing you should be doing as Sion in this matchup is to farm up as much as possible and use your split-pushing power to create pressure on the map.
How do you counter Kled with the items?
When going up against Kled, it’s recommended to stack a mix of both armor and health. Below is a list of items to build you should consider, based on the class of champion you’re playing:
- Bruisers: Death Dance, Sterak’s Gage
- AD assassins: Guardian’s Angel
- ADC champions: Guardian’s Angel
- AP champions: Zhonya’s Hourglass
- Tanks: Warden’s Mail, Dead Man’s Plate
What Champion counters Kled?
The three best counters are Singed, Camille, and Irelia. Other strong counters are Sett, Olaf, and Kayle.
Does Jax counter Kled?
The Jax-Kled matchup is a skill-based one and it depends on how the two champions play the laning phase. Jax can beat Kled but he must get the passive stacked to increase his DPS. On the other hand, Kled can harass by using his Q and then look to disengage if Jax tries to fight back. Overall. the latter has a small advantage as it should be easier to prevail during the extended trades.
