Clove is the latest agent to be added to VALORANT. The new controller has caused a significant stir in most ranked matches. Players worldwide have been unlocking Clove and have wondered which professional player would be seen first testing it out. Before the agent was available for use in VCT tournaments worldwide, it was temporarily disabled. In this article, let’s take a look at the reasons for this and when we can see Clove being used in the various VCT Leagues.
What Is The Major Reason For Clove Being Disabled In VCT?
The 25th agent in VALORANT, Clove, has been a breath of fresh air in the eyes of many fans. Due to their ability to self-revive, they have had one of the highest pick rates in ranked matches. Their abilities support players in taking a more aggressive playstyle during certain phases of play.
In an official statement, VALORANT has stated the following:
“Due to a recently discovered bug with Clove, the Agent’s eligibility for the International League competition will be put on hold. Previously, the agent was expected to enter the competition for Week 2 of Stage 1.”
The bug in question concerns Clove’s ultimate ability, “Not Dead Yet.” After Clove is dead, they can self-revive using this ultimate. The bug causes Clove to not have their primary weapon with them after returning to life, so they are stuck with their secondary weapon.
Week 2 of various VCT Leagues will begin next week. However, due to the discovery of this bug, the agent won’t be legal for a while. If Clove was initially scheduled to be legal next week, many wonder what the new date for the agent to be legal in VCT tournaments would be.
It can be speculated that either agent will be available during the last week of the 4 VCT Leagues group stages. If not the last week of the group stage, Clove could be active from the playoff phase of each event. It would be a pretty drastic measure from VALORANT to make the agent active just before VCT Masters Shanghai, which starts on May 24th.
