The Dota 2 community often enjoys the friendly banters and rivalries especially spiteful beef between pro players. One such rivalry is between Roman “RAMZES” Kushnarev and Janne “Gorgc” Stefanovski. We take a look at the recent beef and how it started between the two Dota 2 celebrities.
Gorgc’s Observations on Maturity
The beef began with Gorgc’s jabs at RAMZES’ maturity level. Gorgc is known for his engaging and often humorous Dota 2 live streams. Recently, he made remarks suggesting that while even the youngest professional Dota 2 players typically mature quickly to adapt to the pro scene, RAMZES is an exception. Gorgc elaborated on his point by humorously noting that despite RAMZES’s age, he is not as mature as other young talents.
Reaction from RAMZES
Not one to stay silent, RAMZES responded to Gorgc in his subsequent live stream. He first clarified there was no such beef with Gorgc, indicating that any perceived conflict was limited to their in-game interactions and not personal. He refuted his own statements later though, by dissing Gorgc’s Dota 2 skills, openly critiquing them as subpar.
The Beef between RAMZES and Gorgc
While RAMZES downplayed the notion of a serious feud, Gorgc’s stance seemed to suggest a deeper level of conflict, primarily rooted in the former’s in-game behavior. Gorgc has been vocal about his disapproval of RAMZES, extending beyond playful banter to accusations of in-game toxicity.
This even led to Gorgc’s public declarations of how much he dislikes RAMZES, with him going as far as to associate RAMZES as one of the two most hated Dota 2 pro players anonymously, emphasizing his in-game behavior.
Truthfully, RAMZES is by no means the most positive player around, considering he has beefs with other pro players. Infamously, with Gaimin Gladiators’ midlaner Quinn “Quinn” Callahan, who calls him ‘Ramdog’. Their famous beef became a community sensation at one point, such that it became an Internet Dota 2 meme and even had a virtual wrestling match featuring two players as avatars in the WWE match at BetBoom Dacha 2023.
Reflections on Gorgc’s Professional Journey
RAMZES is by no means denying the allegations that he is toxic in-game, but there is truth in his words that Gorgc’s Dota 2 skills are lacking for a reason. Gorgc’s journey from a professional player to a popular Dota 2 streamer, and the challenges he faced in achieving success in the Dota Pro Circuit, shed light on his competitive skills. His team, Team Bald Reborn, disbanded in mid-2023 and never really made much success, even in the lower tier of Dota Pro Circuit 2023 (DPC 2023), the Division 2 league.
On the other hand, RAMZES should not be one to comment on poor performance, considering his present team, L1GA TEAM is struggling itself. They recently lost a tier-3 tournament, the Dota2 World Invitationals, to MOUZ, which is a newly-debut team with a line-up of unseasoned players.
