The core gameplay cycle of Fortnite, for many, is defined by getting through each season’s Battle Pass. Completing quests, engaging with different areas of the game, all to get to level 200 and show off you got the highest value reward for each season. Of course, everyone wants these rewards but might not want to spend hours a day grinding, so they use quick level up glitches. For Chapter 5, that’s been the Fortnite Lego AFK glitch.
Until now. It’s been patched. In the latest Fortnite update, Epic has added quite a few new features to Lego Fortnite but maybe most disappointing was patching out the AFK glitch. This exploit to how XP worked in Lego Fortnite let players blow through their Battle Passes. The set-up was simple. You got XP just for spending time in Lego Fortnite, Epic didn’t seem to care what you did in the mode. So, you could leave your little Lego character idling for days at a time. Passively gaining a Battle Pass worth of XP.
The glitch worked well, and was the best way to level up in Fortnite. The best thing about it was that it wasn’t really an exploit, just an oversight that Epic left in the game for quite a while. However, it’s just been disabled. Why has the Fortnite Lego AFK glitch been turned off and what’s your options for getting through the pass quicker now?
Epic Disables the Fortnite Lego AFK Glitch
The Fortnite Lego AFK Glitch let you get through the Battle Pass without as much work. It’s gone now. What seems to have happened is Epic has added AFK detection to the mode. They previously used this to stop XP exploits in the Fortnite Festival mode. Adding it to Lego Fortnite means XP will work the same while actively playing. XP will get turned off when they detect you are AFK. One effect of this might be the Lego Fortnite player count dropping even further. Since this glitch has been pretty popular.
What else can you do to get through the pass? There’s always the old-fashioned method, actually playing and completing your quests. If you want to gain a few levels on the side to make things easier though, it’s likely going to mean going back to Fortnite XP maps.
The best Fortnite Creative XP maps can help you get up levels pretty fast. The Fortnite Lego AFK glitch was ultimately a way to gain XP that Epic didn’t intend. Any maps that use an exploit or glitch will eventually get patched out by Epic.
